Speaker: 6:45 pm

Speaker: Our speaker this month will be Amy Downs. Amy Downs began working for Federal Employees Credit Union (now called Allegiance Credit Union) in 1988. She was working for the credit union on April 19, 1995 when a bomb blast destroyed not only the Credit Union, but the entire Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Eighteen of her co-workers and many of the Credit Union’s members were killed, while many others were injured. After literally being buried under the rubble for 6 ½ hours, Amy was forced to re-think her life goals and priorities.

Embracing her second chance at life Amy has accomplished many personal goals including losing 200 lbs.  She is now a runner, cyclist, triathlete, and an advocate for personal fitness.  Amy’s testimony of strength and survival has been an inspiration to the many she has shared her story with.
