About Patti Tuma:
Patti began her career working with credit unions in 1984, as vice president of the benefits division of a national brokerage firm. In 1994 she founded Benefits Unlimited, Inc. (BUI), a benefits brokerage firm with staff in Sugar Land, San Antonio and Dallas, Texas. Under Patti’s direction, BUI grew to more than 100 clients before being acquired by Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. (GBS) in August 2010.

With her focus and commitment to the credit union industry, Patti saw a need to provide a complete human resources outsourcing solution specifically tailored for credit unions. She realized this objective in 2001 with the formation of CU PEOple, Inc., a Professional Employee Organization. CU PEOple provides a full suite of services including payroll, HR and benefits administration for over 1,000 worksite employees of Texas area credit unions, and is still thriving today under Patti’s ownership.

Currently, as Senior Area Vice President and Consultant with GBS, Patti is responsible for a variety of duties and leads the Credit Union niche at GBS nationally. Her knowledge of the credit union industry coupled with her experience in plan funding, benefit analysis, carrier negotiation and conflict resolution has gained her the respect of her peers and coworkers, as well as her many clients. She is committed to excellent client service and is a clear leader in the industry. Patti uses her experience and knowledge to partner with employers to help them maximize the value and cost-effectiveness of their benefit programs.
