Guest speaker: Johnny Bures – Highway Patrol Corporal for the Lubbock DPS Office
Mr. Bures has been with the Texas Highway Patrol for 16 years, currently serving as the Corporal for the Lubbock DPS Office. He is primarily in the traffic enforcement, but also works in the area of crash investigation, drug interdiction, and human trafficking. He also assist’s other various divisions within their department (Texas Rangers, Special Crimes, Aviation), and other law enforcement agencies.

Topic: Active Shooter Training
An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area, and recent active shooter incidents have underscored the need for a coordinated response by law enforcement and others to save lives. Active shooter incidents are often unpredictable and evolve quickly. In the midst of the chaos, anyone can play an integral role in mitigating the impacts of an active shooter incident. Be prepared and know how to respond to an active shooter incident.
