Topic: Robbery and Hostage Training

Speaker: Paula Upchurch, Cornerstone Credit Union League

There are few crimes that are more frightening and potentially dangerous than a financial institution robbery. Members and employees alike can become victims. Credit Union employees who think that it could never happen to them are sadly mistaken. During any given year the odds are one in nine that any given financial facility could be the victim of a robbery.

That is why proper training is so important. This is not to frighten, but to educate you so that dangerous mistakes will not be made. The goal of credit unions is to get the robber out of the facility, and everyone go home safe at the end of the day.
